Who is behind umi

My name is Jorge Mar.

I am a lawyer, but I also accompany creative, technological, and human processes.

I have been navigating between law, technology and culture for over ten years.

I've advised artists, startups, governments, universities, and festivals, from Tokyo to Geneva, from a recording studio to a biotech lab.

My practice has taken shape in international organizations, research centers, record labels, boutique firms, festivals, corporate events, and collaborative projects.

I've been with you from the first spark of an idea to its global scale. From negotiating a strategic partnership to the legal design of an investment fund or curating a song.

I don't believe in distant advice or prefabricated formulas. I believe in listening, in intentional strategy, and in law as a tool to open up possibilities.

That's why I founded umi.
